Gentlemen – As I mentioned in a note earlier this week, your Webelos (I & II) are invited to our January overnighter – Jan 5th, 2018.  This will be our first time at the Rec Center and I took a tour this evening and all I can say is wow!  The pool has 3 diving boards, a slide and even a lazy river.  We will have access to a climbing wall and gym activities (basketball, pickle-ball, etc.)  There’s always some pretty competitive games of knock-out and our legendary dodgeball tournament is not to be missed.  A few details:

- we will meet at Seton Parish on the 5th at 8:30
- arrive at the Center at 9:00 and swim until 10:30
- climbing wall from 10:30 to 12:00
- pizza at midnight
- dodgeball around 1:00 am
- donuts at 6:00 am
- depart back to Seton at 6:30 am

The boys will be able to participate in the activities above or take advantage of the open gym – we do allow video games for this event as well.  I am attaching the permission slip that I will need for all participants.  As I mentioned, there is no charge for you as our guests and we do ask that a parent attend with their son if at all possible. The Troop will provide drinks, snacks, and pizza, and donuts for breakfast.  All you need to bring is a sleeping bag/pad/pillow in case you want to get some rest at some point – there will be a designated quiet area.  And of course a change of clothes and towel if you are going to swim.  I would love to have an estimate head-count from your group by Dec 21st with a confirmed count by January 2nd.  Please do let me know if you or your parents have any questions and I hope to see you there.

Best,

Mike

Good evening, Troop!

Next month is our annual family campout at Mohican Wilderness. For those that are new to the troop, this is an event that we attend every year which encourages families and scouts to participate in camping, canoeing, a torch-light hike to an old cemetery, ghost stories, a costume party and more. This is also a recruiting event where we invite Webelos from Pickerington packs to join us in the fun.

We will depart Friday evening 10/20, and return Sunday morning 10/22. The cost for this event is $30 per person. The permission slip is on the website. The due date for the permission slip and money is 10/12.

More details about the location can be found at http://www.mohicanwilderness.com/index.php. As always, let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,
Mr. Moorman

Troop,The Tri-Creek District is holding its annual Spring Camporee at Camp Falling Rock from 5/5 - 5/7. The cost for this event is $22 as this covers the cost of the event with the District as well as the meals. There will be many activities for the Scouts to participate in ranging from shooting rifles to driving golf balls and much more. Please consider attending. There is an early registration cutoff so I'll need the permission slips and money this Thursday (4/27) in order to make the reservations with the council.

Troop,
The New Scout Campout is coming up soon. Since we don't have a Scout meeting this week, the permission slips and money ($22) are due on 4/20. Please reply to my email before then to let me know if your Scout plans to attend so I can get an accurate attendance for grocery money.
We will be camping at the Sugarbush camp in Blendon Woods where the the veteran Scouts will be introducing the new Scouts to our troop and assist with teaching them the skills required for camping. Please plan to attend this fun outing!
Thanks,
Mr. Moorman

Good evening, Troop! Our March campout is coming up soon. We'll be camping at Camp Birch (Boy Scout camp in the Tecumseh Council) and spending Saturday at the Air Force Museum. Admission to the museum is always free, however, we will be taking advantage of a special Scouts-only package which includes a ticket for a giant-screen 3D film, a ride in one of the museum's simulators, and a set of personalized military-style dog tags - all for $15. The cost for this camping event is $30 per person. This will cover the costs of the camp, camp food, and the museum Scouts-only package. Each Scout will also need to bring $10 to $15 for lunch at the museum cafeteria.

I will need the permission slip and $30 per Scout/Leader returned to me at this Thursday's Scout Meeting (3/16) in order to make the necessary reservations at the museum.

As always - let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,
Mr. Moorman

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is ready for the new year in scouting. It's hard to believe it's time to start planning for Summer Camp already. The troop has decided, and the camp administration has confirmed, that we will be attending Camp Powhatan the week of 7/2/2017. The costs have remained the same for this year as last. The cost per Scout is $325. The cost per Leader is $175. Like last year, the costs will be broken down into three payments as shown below. Please keep in mind that the payment schedule dates must be met in order to attend.

1/26/2017 $100
3/23/2017 $100
5/19/2017 $125 (or remainder of balance if chosen scout activities have additional cost)

A briefing of the schedule for Summer Camp and the required documentation will be addressed during the next Court of Honor to be held on 1/26/2017. If you haven't done so already, please explore the information on the web sites https://bsa-brmc.org/SummerCamp and https://bsa-brmc.org/powhatan and review the documents in the events page.

Please submit to me the "2017 Summer Camp Payment Form - 20170126.pdf" with money for the first payment by 1/26.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,
Mr. Moorman
